Challenge Week

Posted by Aquaducks President at Jul 11, 2018 10:43AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Challenge week sign-up sheets have been posted outside the main pool entrance. Thank you Anna, Bailey, Sage, Connie and Pam for organizing such an activity- packed week for our swimmers. Click here to view the detailed schedule. Go Ducks!

Our home meet is July 7 and 8! A HUGE thank you goes out to Dave Holland, our meet manager, for all the work he and his crew have done so far.

Invites for our home meet have already gone out. The June 26th email contains instructions on how to sign-up and choose events, and you will have until Monday night to register online. Our home meet is free for all Aquaducks, and all swimmers are encouraged to take part. If you are not attending, please follow the links and “decline” to attend – this helpful to our coaches.

A few notes about our meet:

Turtles will need to be at the pool by about 9:30 am both days, as their events occur after the 50 free events on Saturday and after the Backstroke events on Sunday. All Turtle races are 25 meters. Senior swimmers will be assisting as usual.

Division 1 to 4 swimmers warm-up from 7:00-7:20 am on Saturday and 7:20-7:40 on Sunday. Division 5-8 swimmers will warm up from 7:20-7:40 on Saturday and 7:00 – 7:20 Sunday. Arriving on deck 10 minutes early is optimal. Swimmers hang-out in mp1 between events, so beach chairs, sleeping bags, snacks, water, and reading materials make for an enjoyable day. The meet starts at 8:00 am each day, and will likely wrap up in the mid afternoon.

Quite a number of parents are needed to run a swim meet. The club really benefits from your involvement – this meet is our most significant fundraiser of the year thanks to the many visiting swimmers. Outside the main pool doors, on the Aquaducks Notice Board, are sheets where parents are asked to sign-up for set-up, timing, concession, awards, or whatever looks interesting to you. Free on the job training is always included:)
A fair bit of information is headed your way over the next week or so. Click here to read the meet package. If you still have questions, contact aquaduckspresident@gmail.com or ask any experienced Aquaducks parent.
